Rachel Unitt |
Elizabeth Rachel Unitt (born June 5, 1982) was an English footballer. He currently plays at left back for England Women's and FA WSL Women's club Birmingham City.
Club career
Unitt's football career started with the woman as 14-year Wolves. He joined Everton Women to 2000/01, before signing a professional contract with Fulham LFC next season. After a successful spell at Fulham, he returned to Everton in 2004. His achievements to date include winning the domestic treble with Fulham in the season 2002/03 and 2010 Women's FA Cup with Everton.
On July 2005, Unitt joined the United W-League team the New Jersey Wildcats to their seventh game last season, in cooperation with the United Kingdom and former Fulham teammate Rachel Yankey. Wildcats eventually won the W-League championship, defeating the Ottawa Fury Women by 3-0 in the championship match with Unitt scoring the first goal. Unitt is also trained with Malmo FF in December 2005, but for fear of burn-out, rejected a contract offer from the Swedish club.
With active before the 2011 season Everton FA WSL, Unitt playing for Leeds City Vixens in the FA Premier League Cup Women.

International career
Unitt first played for England in 2000, after 16 appearances for the U-18 years. His senior debut came in August 2000, with a 1-0 friendly defeat to France, before 50,000 spectators at the Stade Vélodrome. He scored his first international goal in a British victory over the Netherlands in September 2004, [10] and scored two more goals in his hometown in Walsall England's friendly 4-1 victory over the Czech Republic in May 2005.
Unitt was named the Nationwide International Player of the Year Awards 2004 in the FA Women's Football. She won the same award in 2006, was chosen by the fans at the FA website.
In May 2009, Unitt is one of 17 players the first woman to be given central contract by the Football Association.
At the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup in China, Unitt is the only outfield member of the England squad which remains unused. On the occasion of his 90th cap, he finally made his debut World Cup in June 2011, from England drew 1-1 with Mexico in Wolfsburg.
