Muse Biography - Group Band International
Muse was first in the form in 1994. Members of Muse played during their stay at Teignmouth Community College in the early 1990s, but the formation of Muse began when Bellamy successfully auditioned for a guitarist in Dominic Howard's band. They asked Chris Wolstenholme - who played drums at the time - to learn to play bass for the band, Wolstenholme agreed and took the lesson that, while Bellamy should be a singer and songwriter for the band. The first band name of Bellamy and Howard is a Gothic Plague, Fixed Penalty and Rocket Baby Dolls thereafter.
With the gothic image to compete in the inter-band fights. And shortly after that, they changed their name to Muse, migrate from Teignmouth name "Muse" was inspired by the art teacher Matthew Bellamy who mention the word "Muses". Bellamy then look in the dictionary and decided to shorten it to "Muse". It is also used because they are short and look good on the poster. Members of the band consists of three persons, namely Matthew Bellamy (vocals, guitar, piano, keytar), Chris Wolstenholme (bass, backing vocals, keyboards, guitar) and Dominic Howard (drums, percussion). Muse has a genre of music that blends rock, progressive rock, classical music, and electronics.
After several years building a fan base, Muse played their first concerts in London and Manchester. The band had a meeting with Dennis Smith, owner of Sawmills recording company, based in Cornwall, England. This meeting led to the Muse's first official recording, the EP Muse are using label Sawmills, Dangerous. Then E.P. to-2 they, Muscle Museum, was ranked the third in the indie charts and received the attention of influential British music journalist Steve Lamacq and the weekly British music magazine NME. Dennis Mills and help build a music company Taste Media, which is made especially for Muse (Muse uses this label for their first 3 albums). This is very beneficial to Muse because they can maintain the uniqueness of their music at the beginning of their careers.
Although E.P. to-2 they were pretty successful, many British record companies remain reluctant to support Muse, and many people in the music industry think the music is too similar to Radiohead Muse as well as new bands at the other British. However, the U.S. company Maverick Records promoting the Muse to appear several times in the United States until they were finally signed on December 24, 1998. After coming back from America, Taste Media arranged deals for Muse at record companies in Europe and Australia. John Leckie, who produced the album for Radiohead, Stone Roses, "Weird Al" Yankovic and The Verve, Muse become the first producer album, Showbiz.
The launch of this album was followed by appearances on the tour supporting the band Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers in the United States. In 1999 and 2000, Muse played at several music festivals in Europe and Australia, and collected a lot of new fans in Western Europe. Their second album, Origin of Symmetry, by John Leckie as producer, the music contains a heavier and darker, with a deep bass voice and distorted. Muse experimented with musical instruments that are not commonly used, such as the church organ, Mellotron, and an additional drum equipment. Muse are more reliant on high sound Bellamy, with the strains of guitar and piano arpeggio that sounds obvious, which is inspired by the movement of romanticism in particular the Russian musician Sergei Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky.
Some songs like "Space Dementia" has elements of classical music that is more viscous by Rachmaninoff. Bellamy also said the influence of renowned guitarist Jimi Hendrix and Tom Morello (guitarist of Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave) in the melody of the guitar on several songs last in this album. There is also recycled from the song "Feeling Good", originally created by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse and popularized by Nina Simone. Appearance during the campaign Muse Origin of Symmetry album managed to attract a lot of Muse Pengemar and built a reputation as a band with exceptional live performances. This brings a reputation for releasing Muse Hullabaloo Soundtrack, DVD containing their performance at Le Zenith in Paris, France in 2001. Then at the same time, they also released a double album containing B-sides and recordings of performances at Le Zenith. Their third album Absolution (produced by Rich Costey) was launched in 2003 and debuted number one in England.
This album produced the first single to enter the top ten hits them "Time Is Running Out" and then the top twenty hits: "Hysteria", "Sing For Absolution" and "Butterflies And Hurricanes'. Muse then did their first international tour. This continued for about a year and the Muse visiting Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, and France. In the meantime, the band released six singles ("Stockholm Syndrome", "Time Is Running Out", "Hysteria", "Sing For Absolution ',' Butterflies And Hurricanes" and "Apocalypse Please"). In the U.S. from 2004 started touring unpleasant as Bellamy injured himself on stage during the opening show in Atlanta. Tour resumed after several stitches and a few days of rest.
Nestlé demanded the band in 2003, who use the cover Nina Simone "Feeling Good" on an ad for Nescafé without the permission of the band. They donate money earned from Nestle compensation of 500,000 pounds for Oxfam, a nonprofit foundation engaged in poverty alleviation. They also have a DVD that was released by the band on December 12, 2005, called the Absolution Tour. The official release containing edits Glastonbury Festival 2004 and earlier footage from London Earls Court, Wembley Arena, and the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. Two songs, "endlessly" and "Thoughts Of A Dying Atheist", as a hidden track on a DVD taken from Wembley Arena. Only song from Absolution not appear on the live DVD is "Falling Away With You", which has never been performed live until now. Absolution certified Gold in the U.S..
In 2006, Muse released their fourth album, Black Holes & Revelations, Muse and produced by Rich Costey. The title and theme of the album is the result of the band's fascination with science fiction and political outrage. The album reached No. 1 in the UK, most of Europe, and Australia. It was also successful in the United States, reaching number nine on the Billboard 200 album chart. Before releasing a new album, the band made a live show, which was stopped during recording, making a number of promotional appearances began on May 13, 2006 on BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend.
Black Holes & Revelations Tour begins just before the release of their album and initially consisted mostly of festival appearances, especially the headline slot at Reading and Leeds Festival in August 2006. The main tour schedule begins with the band on tour in North America from late July early August 2006. After the last of the summer festival, European tour starts, including a large arena tour of Britain. Black Holes & Revelations was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize 2006, but lost to Arctic Monkeys. The album, get Platinum Europe Award after selling one million copies on the continent. In August 2006, Muse recorded a live session at Abbey Road Studios for Live from Abbey Road. On September 25, 2008, Bellamy, Howard and Wolstenholme received his Honorary Doctorate of Arts from the University of Plymouth for their contribution to music
The Muse's fifth album Resistance was released in September 2009. This is the first Muse album produced by the band. The time of release, the album topped the album charts in 19 countries, became the band's third album number UK number, and reached 3 on the Billboard 200. Critics mostly positive about this album, with lots of praise addressed to the ambition, the influence of classical music and the thirteen-minute, three-part "Exogenesis: Symphony". It also beat the previous album Black Holes & Revelations in the relative sales of the album's debut week in the UK with around 148 000 copies sold. The first single "Uprising" was released seven days in advance and has won many awards.
In 2010, Muse in a poll by music magazine NME for their recycling of Nina Simone song "Feeling Good" as best song of all time recycling. More than 15,000 people voted. On 12 September 2010, Muse won the MTV Video Music Awards in the category of Best Special Effects, for the promo for "Uprising". On 21 November, Muse took home the American Music Award for Favorite Artist in the Alternative Rock category, in a ceremony at the Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles.
On December 2, it was announced that Muse have been nominated for three awards for 53 Grammy Awards: Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group with Vocals - ("Resistance"), Best Rock Song - ("Resistance"), and Best Rock Album: (The Resistance). Based on airplay and sales in the U.S. the largest, single Muse for 2010 with "Uprising", "Resistance" and "Undisclosed Desires" is 1, 6 and 49 at year-end chart. On the 53rd Grammy Awards on February 13, 2011, Muse won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album for The Resistance. and Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement.
