J. Krishnamurti |
Story of Life
At the age of 14, he "discovered" by the leader of the Theosophical Society, Mrs. Annie Besant and Bishop CW Leadbeater , who saw the boy "has a very unusual aura, with no traces of selfishness". Since then Krishnamurti taught by the leaders of Theosophy and prepared to be a "vehicle" for the "World Teacher" (Lord Maitreya)-the belief of the Theosophy of the time will come back to earth 2000 years after the arrival of the last to be Jesus Christ. To welcome the event that formed the Order of Eastern Star [The Order of the Star in the East], where he became chairman. Society was later changed its name to the Order of the Star.
But it turns out later Krishnamurti on the path of his own, to deviate from the line set by Theosophy. In 1922, at the age of 27 years, he had undergone a process of enlightenment that lasted for 3 days, where it undergoes a change of consciousness. He relates: "... There was one correct way, it's me; pickaxe he held was me; dipecahnya center stone is a part of me; fragile blade of grass that was me, and beside the tree that was me. "And at the end of the Enlightenment, he stated : "I'm very happy because I have seen. No one would return the same way again. I have drunk the water is crystal clear and pure from the fountain of life, and the thirst has been satisfied. I will never again be in darkness, I have seen the Light.
... I have touched Compassion that heals all sorrow and suffering, it's not for myself, but for the world. Truth has been open source for me and the darkness has gone. Love in all its glory was intoxicating me; my heart will never be closed again. I have drunk from the fountain everlasting joy and beauty. "He describes himself" divine drunkenness ".
In 1929 occurred the unexpected, because the assembly and let it dissolve and return the money and property that have been piled on his behalf. He argued that truth could not be found through a sect or a religion, but only by way of freeing ourselves from any form of attachment. "You can form other organizations and expect someone else", he said, "Of that I was not paying attention, not to create new cages. My only concern is to free humanity unconditionally.
In 1929 the abolition of the Order of the Star said: "I declare that the truth is a land without roads [Truth is a pathless land], and you can not approach it by any path, by any religion, by any sect. That is my point of view, and I stick to it absolutely and unconditionally. Truth, infinite, unconditioned, unapproachable by any path, can not be organized; improperly formed an organization to lead or coerce people to take a particular path. ... You may establish other congregations, you will continue to get other organizations to seek the truth. ... I do not want to get any spiritual organization; please understand this. If an organization was formed for that purpose, it will become a crutch, a weakness, bondage, and would paralyze people and prevent it growing, to enforce uniqueness, which lies in the invention itself will be an absolute truth that is not conditioned. ... I do not want followers. The moment you follow someone, you no longer follow the Truth. ... Because I am free, unconditioned, whole, not part, not relative, but the whole truth is eternal, I want those who want to understand me, for free as well, not follow, instead of making me a cage, which will become a religion, a sect . ... Now I have decided to dissolve the Order of this, because I happen to be its Chairman. You can form other organizations and expect someone else. I do not care about it, nor with creating new cages, new decorations and a cage for it. My interest is only to make men free is absolutely, without conditioned. "In 1930 he came out of the Theosophical Society.
Since then he has traveled to many cities in different continents, speak to everyone who would listen. His teachings attracted many world figures such as Jawaharlal Nehru, Bernard Shaw, Aldous Huxley, Dr. Bohm and others. His books have been published in English there are approximately thirty pieces and has been translated into various languages, including 13 books in Indonesian language. Some schools offer education based on the doctrine established in India, England and California. On 17 February 1986, he quietly died in Ojai, California, and his body was cremated on the spot.
His work
Krishnamurti works in the form of books which are excerpts taken from lectures, dialogues and writings ever published or not between 1933 and 1968. Krishnamurti's first book by a popular and readable by the public, Education and the Significance of Life ', he wrote under a large oak tree in Ojai, California, and published in 1953 by Harper & Row, who for over thirty years continued to publish his works in America. Of his book,'' The First And Last Freedom'', also published by Harper & Row in 1954, accompanied by a long preface by Aldous Huxley.
Commentaries on Living series of books written by hand between 1949 and 1955 on paper without edge lines and no correction or deletion. Aldous Huxley encouraged Krishnamurti to write, and the manuscript, edited by D. Rajagopal, published in 1956. Basically, the book contains the story of the interviews given by Krishnamurti to people who come and talk to him, and in the pages of that book was the atmosphere of a meeting between two friends are talking and probing without hesitation or fear.
The chapters in these books often begin with a brief description of natural scenery, climate, or animals that are around there. From the simplicity of this nature there was a reasonable transition to a full panorama of mental confusion, anxiety, issues of trust, public or private that brought people to the meeting with Krishnamurti. Some of the interview was not published in the first three volumes of the Commentaries on Living and appear in this book for the first time. In the few interviews that had not been previously published, Krishnamurti used the term "thinking-feeling" to describe a response which is unity.
Book Life Ahead 'and Think on These Things' edited by his friend Krishnamurti, Mary Lutyens, in 1963 and 1964 and published by Harper & Row. The second book is a collection of questions and answers are selected and edited from his lectures to young people, and so well received that is seen as a classic of religious literature. Once again it was published more than fifty books.
Krishnamurti sees itself not important and not needed in the process of understanding the truth, the process of seeing ourselves. One time he refers to himself as a telephone, a tool to be used by the listener. He said: "What does the speaker is not important. The really important thing is that the conscious mind without effort is in a state that he knew all the time. If we do not understand and just hearing the words, we would not want to go with a set of concepts or ideas, and thus create a pattern, to which we then try to fit into our daily lives or in the so-called spiritual life of our .
Digest Doctrine
In a brief article in 1980, he describes the essence of his teachings, which he called The Core of the Teachings:
"'Truth is a land without roads'. Humans can not get to it through any organization, through any trust, through dogma, priest or ritual of any kind, nor through philosophical knowledge or psychological technique. He must find it through the mirror relationship, through an understanding of the contents of his own mind, through observation and not through intellectual analysis or introspective dissection. Humans have built up inside of her images as the security fence-religious, political and personal. This is manifest as symbols, ideas and beliefs. Burden of these images dominates thinking, relationships and daily life of man. Images is the cause of our problems, because they divide man from man. Perceptions about life shaped by the concepts that have been embedded in his mind. Content of consciousness is his entire existence. This content is the same for all humanity. Individuality is the name, form and superficial culture he acquires from tradition and environment. The uniqueness of man lies not in the superficial, but the full freedom of the contents of consciousness, the same for all mankind. So it is not the individual. "
"Freedom is not a reaction, freedom is not an option. Assumption that only humans have felt free because he had a choice. Freedom is pure observation without direction, without fear of punishment and reward. Freedom is without motive; freedom is not located at the end of human evolution, but the first step of his existence. In observation of people began to discover the lack of freedom. Freedom is found in consciousness without an opt-in to the existence and activities of our daily lives. "
"Thought is time. Thought is born of experience and knowledge, which is inseparable from time and the past. Time is the psychological enemy of man. Our actions are based on knowledge and thus at the time, so man is always a slave to the past. The mind is always finite and thus we live in conflict and struggle constantly. There is no psychological evolution.
"When the man conscious of his own motion, he will see the separation between the thinker and thought, between the observer and the observed, between the experienced and the experienced. He will find that this separation is an illusion. So that's where there is only pure observation which is insight without any shadow of a glimmer of the past or of time. Enlightenment-this time without producing profound and radical changes in mind. "
"Total negation is the essence of the positive. When there is negation of all that has been created by the mind psychologically, so that's where there is only love, the compassion and intelligence.
