Gretchen Carlson - Miss America, Miss Minnesota

http://the-american-history.blogspot.com/Gretchen Elizabeth Carlson is an American television host, and former Miss America, who at present hosts the Fox News morning show Fox & Friends, along with co-hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade. Carlson is also a former display winner. She won the title "Miss Minnesota" and then, in 1989, become the third woman from that state to win the "Miss America" title. For the talent opposition, Carlson played Zigeunerweisen, the violin composition of Sarasate. Carlson was earlier the co-anchor of the Saturday Early Show, on CBS. She joined CBS News as a reporter in 2000. Before her term at CBS, Carlson served as a weekend anchor and journalist for KXAS-TV in Dallas. She begins her television career in Richmond, Virginia, as a political reporter for WRIC-TV. She began her media profession in a franchise called Neighborhood News. Carlson is a national famous person spokesperson for the March of Dimes.

Suzette Charles

http://the-american-history.blogspot.com/Suzette Charles is one of the American singer and entertainer. She represents New Jersey in the 1984 Miss America pageant held in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She won her beginning talent night and finished first runner-up to Vanessa Lynn Williams, who become the first African-American to wear the crown and title of Miss America. When Williams submissive the title in scandal, Charles fulfilled her duty for the remaining seven weeks. Charles, who previously had many credits in advertising and educational television, has gone on to a career as a singer, entertainer, and television personality. She has acted on the CBS television sequence Frank's Place and performed on This Morning, a British talk show. Charles also pursues a singing profession. She toured with Stevie speculate and Lou Rawls in the late 80's. In 1993, she worked with top British producer Mike Stock and Pete Waterman. She released her entrance solo single, "Free to Love Again", in August 1993.

Terry Meeuwsen

http://the-american-history.blogspot.com/Terry Anne Meeuwsen is one of the American television personality, co-host of the Christian Broadcasting Network's 700 club, author and singer. Meeuwsen was the 1972 Miss Green Bay, 1972 Miss Wisconsin and the winner of the Miss America pageant in 1973, taking both the talent and bikini competitions. She remains the only Miss Wisconsin give to hold the Miss America title. After graduation from high school, where she was a cheerleader for three years and the return queen, and prior to contending in the Miss America scholarship pageant, between 1969–1971, Meeuwsen achieve and traveled with the The New Christy Minstrels singing group. Meeuwsen begin television work at WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee in 1978, exit the station in 1986 to raise her family. On September 12, 1995, Meeuwsen out the inspirational pop recording, Eyes of My Heart. She has also authored four books; include Christmas Memories, Near To The Heart Of God, Just Between Friends, and The God Adventure.

In 1983, she became the first woman of African-American dive to be crowned Miss America, but a scandal caused her to relinquish her title early. Williams rebounded by beginning a career as an entertainer, earning Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award nominations. Williams compete in the Miss Syracuse beauty pageant when a campus musical she was in was cancelled in 1983. After she won, Williams won Miss New York in 1983, and went to the Miss America national pageant in Atlantic City.Prior to the final night of competition, Williams won both the Preliminary Talent and Swimsuit Competitions from previous in the week. Williams' reign as Miss America was not without its challenges and controversies. For the first time in pageant history, a reign Miss America was the target of death threats and hate mail.
